YOU SMASHED IT! A huge well done to our amazing 127 Great South Runners representing Portsmouth DSA in the 10-mile run today! You were all fantastic, and we’re very proud of your all! Our team included members from all parts of the community including City Tech, Airbus, Warner Goodman, North Baddesley Infant School, the Tigers Motorcycle Display Team and the Royal Navy who all came together today in support of our charity! We pride ourselves on having the friendliest team in the run, and it was lovely to see real camaraderie as the runners spurred each other on and were cheered all the way round the course at every mile by our dedicated support teams. Thank you to everyone who has made today a huge success. YOU WERE BRILLIANT! We hope you had fun too! Go Green Army! #GreatSouthRun #PortsmouthDownSyndrome
Well done to all our incredible 141 Mini & Junior Runners and our 68 5K runners representing Portsmouth DSA today in the Great South Run! You all did a fantastic job and made us very proud, especially our young runners who were brilliant and demonstrated real team spirit! It was lovely to see so many smiling faces as everyone displayed their medals with pride! Castle Field was a sea of green as well over 500 hundred of our runners and supporters turned out to run and cheer, and we were as usual the best represented charity on the day with representatives from all parts of the community including Airbus, Warner Goodman, North Baddesley Infant School, the Tigers Motorcycle Display Team & the SE Hants Special Olympic Team! The Rapid Relief Team worked hard all day and did a fantastic job keeping us all fired up by generously donating free food and refreshments for 500+ of our team members. Thank you to you all your amazing efforts today. We certainly raised a lot of awareness and hopefully some vital funds too! Go Green Army! #GreatSouthRun #PortsmouthDownSyndrome

Our phenomenal PDSA community has done it again! Trustees Ken and Rachael were invited to the Persimmons Homes Gala in York yesterday evening, where fellow finalists watched a film about the work of Portsmouth DSA followed by the amazing announcement that PDSA had come top of the Persimmon vote for best UK educational charity! Rachael and Ken were thrilled to be presented with a cheque for an incredible £100,000. This is a fantastic amount and will make a real and positive difference to the work of the charity, and it couldn’t have come at a better time with the launch of our New Centre Fundraising Campaign. We can’t thank Persimmon Homes enough for this amazing opportunity! Thank you to all our loyal and dedicated supporters from across our community who voted for us every day, and to Rachael who worked hard against fierce competition to ensure the charity won a prestigious place in the final out of 4,000 charities and then spearheaded the winning campaign. Well done and thank you everyone! A fantastic achievement which has not only generated vital funds, but also enabled us to spread awareness to a huge audience. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with Persimmon Homes! #PersimmonHomes #BuildingFutures
We’ve received the fantastic news that our wonderful Chair Rachael Ross has been awarded an MBE on the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to education & Down syndrome! Rachael has worked tirelessly for many years at the helm of PDSA, developing a comprehensive package of support for our children from the point of diagnosis through to adulthood, raising awareness and championing inclusion. It’s brilliant that her passion and enthusiasm has been recognised with such a prestigious award, and i’m sure you’ll all take great pleasure in joining with us to congratulate Rachael on her much-deserved honour. Well done Rachael!
