Our charity article promoting successful inclusion was featured in the national Times Educational Supplement during our Down Syndrome Awareness Week celebrations. We are proud to champion the inclusion of pupils with DS in the UK and currently support over 100 educational establishments and train thousands of professionals across the region. All our young people can learn with the right specialist support, helping them reach their full potential, enabling them to lead more independent lives and be valued and productive members of their communities. #InclusionMatters https://www.tes.com/news/down-syndrome-awareness-week-14-tips-inclusion
Trustees Rachael & Ken were invited along to the Shaping Portsmouth Guildhall Conference this morning where it was announced that Portsmouth DSA has been awarded the Shaping Education in Portsmouth Award for their outstanding contribution to education in the region! The award recognises the charity’s vast range of specialist educational services for children with DS including our flagship School Advisory Service championing inclusion in over 90 mainstream schools, and our positive impact on improving educational outcomes for children with DS. The award is a great accolade for our dedicated and hardworking team at PDSA, and all our families and supporters. We are very proud to have been honoured with this award. Thank you, Shaping Portsmouth!
Very proud to see our fantastic Chair Rachael Ross MBE presented with her Royal Honour today by Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace for her Outstanding Services to Education & Down Syndrome. Rachael was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday honours list in June and was invited to the palace today for her formal investiture. Rachael has worked tirelessly for over 15 years to raise the profile of Down syndrome and to ensure that families have access to the specialist support they need. Please join us in congratulating Rachael on her amazing achievement which is so very well deserved.
