240 wildly excited shipmates, including the Lord Mayor & Lady Mayoress of Portsmouth, Rear Admiral Paul Marshall CBE, Cllrs Mason & Vernon Jackson CBE, Professor Sue Buckley OBE & PDSA families were piped aboard the historic HMS Warrior 1860 for our annual fundraising dinner yesterday evening, hosted by charity hosts Ken & Rachael Ross. Guests enjoyed a unique experience as they dined between the cannon on the atmospheric lower gun deck whilst belting out salty sea shanties. The interactive online auction was a catalyst for some frenzied bidding for a wealth of incredible lots including a luxury holiday in Bali, a stay on a 78ft motorboat & a private safari tour & lodge stay in amongst the lions! The evening raised much needed funds for the charity (total to be announced soon), and a wonderfully tipsy time was had by all! With special thanks to our generous guests and donors, our fabulous compere and celebrity auctioneer John Cameron, event organiser Helen Nelson, our wonderful entertainer Shep Woolley and his Andsom Cabinbouys, HMS Warrior & Vanilla Catering and everyone who helped make the evening a big success.
